It all started with a simple notification on Hello Talk on August 18 2025. At the time I was stuck at home in Spain with a sprained ankle feeling pretty down because my holiday was ruined. I had just downloaded the app because I saw that we could learn languages on it but my first experience was actually quite bad. The very first person who contacted me was a strange girl who kept talking about sexual things and asking me for pictures of myself. I felt extremely uncomfortable and I was almost ready to delete the app because of that.
Then a girl from Hangzhou decided to make the first move driven by curiosity about my style. Little did I know that curiosity would heal much more than just my ankle. Behind the screen I discovered a kindness so rare it made me wonder how someone like her could even exist. We bonded instantly over Spanish music and just like that our story began.
It is crazy to think that if I had deleted the app a few minutes earlier because of that other girl we would have never met. 艺 appeared at the perfect moment and she immediately stood out from everyone else.
